Some things never change. Like Zachery Tims, he died in a hotel room full of booze and pills.

Who knew Allen intimately and who describes his death in the Jack Tar Hotel surrounded by liguor bottles etc. As a total fabrication by some of his detractors. And the lie took on a life of its own of course.Read this for another perspective http://www.eaec.org/bibleanswers/Paul-Cunningham-Testimony.pdf
I never met A.A. Allen, but I am familiar with his ministry. God used him mightily even tho he was a much flawed vessel. I spent part of a day with his successor, Don Stewart, while in Phoenix a few years back. Don told me he found Allen dead, removed the bottles etc to clean up the scene. However, there were other incidences, i.e. DUI etc in some of his campaigns that are matters of record. In short, Allen’s team members say, yes, he was an alcoholic, but he was still a man of God, & a man used of God. I must say, I cannot disagree with that assessment.
Throughout the Bible we find where God used flawed individuals to bring about His will. David, Jacob, Abraham, Solomon, Samson. In our time, I know of a well remembered man of God that preached totally unsaved for quite a while. He was successful for the Lord in an unsaved condition. All the much more after he was saved.I remember Allen as a child. I remember his death. He had been in the grip of Alcohol for years. I was pastoring in California when JS’s flaws were exposed. I often wonder how many of us are flawed in some way that, if exposed, would rob us of our calling? From the alleged stats, many ministers are addicted to some vice. I won’t go as far as some to say the majority, but I believe it would be a large number. It is easier to pick on the highly visible, but the majority of us aren’t subject to media scrutiny________________
My mother was listening to Allen on an AM radio station when I was a child. She heard him start to speak of oil running from his hands and puddling at the feet of a person he was praying for in his meeting. She reached over, turned off the radio and simply said, that is not in the Bible. She never turned on his broadcast again.
It is true that no one is perfect. Only Jesus. But they is a heap a difference in a imperfect person living a sanctified life, when set in juxtaposition to a person who begins to engage in behavior that is biblically prohibited. Examples would include: JS’s prostitute/porno mags in his car; AAA’s alcoholism (not a sip here and there, but liver destroying alcoholism); etc. Now, there are two questions the ole timer wants to posit: 1. Did God continue to place his sovereign sacred Holy Spirit on these men and anoint them while they were in full blown/ongoing sinful behavior?
A few days ago a friend told me of a preacher in Moultrie that had oil coming from his hand. I have heard of this before, but have no idea how or why.I am not turned on by things like this but there many who are.Get someone healed or delivered from drugs or born again. This excited me________________Recorded Sermons @ http://www.pastorwiley.com

Perhaps it was simply for medicinal purposes.Isn’t that ok nowadays? He was just ahead of his time.If he would have had a 50 gallon tub of pot in the back – it would have also been ok for medicinal purposes. Quit being a Pharisee OTCP________________
I saw the link from Paul Cunningham. That may have been the preacher that I had an email conversation with about Allen about 10 years ago. I remember the part about the vision and the end-times revival that was to start through Allen’s ministry. If I remember right, he said he interviewed the people who worked at the hotel who went into AA Allen’s room, and they said there was no liquor bottles or pills laying around. Allegedly, the coroner committed suicide, and right before it returning a $10,000 check to the ministry there with a confession that he’d lied about stating the liquor-related liver disease as a cause of death in exchange for the money, which was paid to him by preachers in another denomination. He said the miracle valley ministry didn’t expose this because the denomination was doing some good ministry work and they didn’t want to cause a scandal for them. The New York Times reported the liquor bottles________________
Which denomination? If it can be proven that the allegations of alcohol use are false. It would be great to vindicate a falsely accused man. That’s a lot of if’s there________________Charles A. HutchinsSenior Pastor SPWCCongregational Church of Godwww.spwc.church

Mama would get me ready for church and then I would be put on the footstool to watch A A Allen. That way I didn’t get my clothes dirty________________
