Bro Doyle Rogers, I read what you wrote regarding your 25 year old son. Our heart goes out to you my Brother. My wife & I also lost our daughter at the young age of 21 months. She was actually murdered by someone in our church (CoG) one Sunday morning and died the very next day just before the noon hour. 40 years now gone by and we have as yet to find out the details. All we have is an autopsy. Also, my wife’s brother, just a young man of 20 years old, died late one fall in a boat incident in a cold lake. Her parents were quite concern whether he went to heaven or not. Her mother died 21 years later. But before she breathed her last breath, the Lord allowed her look into heaven. She cried out saying, “Oh Darrell, we were not sure if you had made it or not.” When my wife’s father heard her say that, he started shouting all over their living room. So I want you to know that my wife and I not only show sympathy for the passing of your son, but we have empathy for you because we too have experienced the death of our child and we know that regardless how long it has been, we all still feel the loss of our children, and we continue to feel it deep within our hearts. I must say that the only scripture verse that we could find to help us was found in Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” God richly bless you and your precious wife.
