Franklin Graham reminds me of……

Jesse Jackson in that he has to interject himself into everything. The question is, is he doing this or is the media contacting him for reaction with every issue? Is he hoping to be the spokesperson for all of Evangelical Christians?

  1. Wow. I just can’t believe that our church officials would have done such things. How can we expect the blessings of the Lord upon our work? Charles, I was not aware of such things.

  2. Wow. Awesome. Deep. Oh so true. The ambition and exercises of “establishing one’s own righteousness while despising others” is quite costly and time consuming for sure. Very aptly spoken words and certainly something to consider and reconsider!

  3. We know how to motivate a congregation and all the religious cliches, but we so often get in the way of the moving of the Holy spirit. We know how to have to church, but yet we do not have church anymore.

  4. I always thought that this was a good program that brought about classroom training to the local church teachers and workers. There were Church Training Courses offered by the GeneraL Education Department of the denomination and it offered a certification to workers.

Anyone know what brought an end to this? Perhaps it may still be available but used very little.

  5. Charles.. Tongues are for the unbeliever. You don’t learn that at Lee, do ya?
    1 Cor. 14:2
    ~King James
For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

    ~New International Version
For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit.

    ~New Living Translation
For if you have the ability to speak in tongues, you will be talking only to God, since people won’t be able to understand you. You will be speaking by the power of the Spirit, but it will all be mysterious.

  6. I was a big promoter of “Forward In Faith,” even as a teenager. I remember printing posters through the silk screen process when I was in high school to advertise our new national radio program. I also remember attaching a poster to the right rear window of Dad and Mom’s 1954 Oldsmobile.

  7. Bill, I was also and my interest went back to the days before Triplett. Wish the COG had keep the program going as it was. It diminished I am sure to the lack of funds. We could have built some National interest.
