i.e. the fact that most pills can cause the prevention of a fertilized egg (a life by my definition and I assume by most Christians), from attaching to the uterine wall. Before you state the position that pregnancy doesn’t begin until the fertilized egg actually attaches to the uterine wall, remember that is a definition condoned by those who don’t believe that life begins at conception anyway, so its a little hard take seriously in my opinion. If you believe in that position, then are you saying that a soul is created at the moment the already fertilized egg attaches successfully?

My wife never wanted to use the pill. I told her I read about that thing about the baby not implanting. I also mentioned I’d heard the pill might make her fat. I think the first reason convinced her, but the second reason might have been enough if the first one did not exist________________

Which ones denounce it? None that I know of. You’re right though, its a gray area at best. But is abortion a gray area? Our experience with the pill was not great and soon abandoned, but we were completely ignorant of the possibilities back then. I think most people still are ignorant of it, especially those that use it and are anti-abortion. The drug companies themselves are vague and usually use the line that its not abortion because the egg hasn’t implanted. But that leaves it far from settled in my opinion.
