I hate to say it, but the conservatives supporting Trump are going to hand this election to Hillary. Donald Trump is a personal friend of the Clintons and an intentional plant in the Republican Party. If he wins the nomination, Hillary will win in the biggest landslide election that we have ever seen. If Trump doesn’t win the republican nomination, he will run as an independent candidate and Hillary will win in the biggest landslide that we have ever seen.
What COG did you attend as a child?
I was raised in the Prichard Church of God-Ala. on Wilson Ave. which is no longer there just the building & I have photos. I remember Bishop George Ayers as my Pastor & was in class with his son Robert. My cousin (her Mother’s possession) has a group photo on the steps when I was a toddler. I am now 68 yrs. old.
It would be easier to give an elegy than to tell a story. ” An elegy is a sad poem, usually written to praise and express sorrow for someone who is dead. Although a speech at a funeral is a eulogy, you might later compose an elegy to someone you have loved and lost to the grave. The purpose of this kind of poem is to express feelings rather than tell a story.
give us a good eulogy of the Church of God’s belief in holiness and sanctification. Then follow it up with a poetic elegy!
I recall when drinking Coca-cola was a sin along with chewing gum.
It is beautiful. I wish I could travel different places. I can’t go far now. I’m trusting the Lord for healing.
I don’t know of a COG preacher ever believing in once sanctified always sanctified.
The AG view is a subtraction of the word “subsequent” in the order of regeneration and sanctification. The problem for AG is similar to the problem the OSAS people have with the salvific order. Instead of loosing one’s salvation the explanation is they were never saved in the first place.
In the COG sanctification is separate from the new birth and is an experience subsequent from the new birth. It was rare to hear a COG preacher say that if you lost your sanctification you were not a Christian.
Charles Page, if someone gets sanctified, sings and has to get sanctified again, how is that different from some form of progressive sanctification?
They were not sanctified in the first place.
Charles Page, sounds like OSAS doctrine.
Btw, if someone speaks in tongues, heals the sick, etc., and then sins, would you say he was never baptized with the Holy Ghost to begin with?
Was the individual in Hebrews 10:29 sanctified?
Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was SANCTIFIED, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
OSAS says once a sinner makes a profession of faith that profession stands eternally.
From what I’ve understood, CoG says that you can loose your salvation if you don’t live right.
Several places in bible state that. I will blot your name from book of life, can’t be removed if not their first. 2. If having sacrifice for a sin you knowingly continue to sin there is no longer a sacrifice for it.
There seems to be two books: one a volume of recorded names
and two “volumes” a cyclopedidae of recorded works that accommodate the listing of names in the first volume. The entries can be erased and blotted out. They are truthful accounts of our lives from which the saints are judged and assigned rewards.
Give scripture to back that please
seems like it is in the book of Revelation.
