Some people mistake holiness for legalism in both directions. Some of us including me has looked at legalism and called it holiness. Some have observed genuine holiness and mistook it for legalism. Pentecost and holiness do go hand in hand. Misconceptions of holiness which is actually legalism often accompanies this.
Brody Pope, just because you heard a Pentecostal preacher make such a statement does not necessarily mean it is true. What you should be more so concerned about is when a Pentecostal denomination makes such a statement.
The one I heard this morning was a pastor of a “biblically Pentecostal church” and always talks trash about the denominations that he labels as “traditional Pentecostal church’s”. In fact, he’s ordained in the Pentecostal Free Will Baptist conference.

Charles W. Conn stated that. He equated legalism with three groups: Pharisees, Puritans and Pentecostals.
I ask him to speak to a group of PFC team leaders at Lee and that was his “word” to us.
I was somewhat convinced that he meant Pharisees, Puritans, Pentecostals and PFCs
We were not liked at Lee. We were too religious!

It is true in some instances but not all. I think part of the reason is our approach to the Holy Spirit and how He works in our lives.
