  1. That’s the sticky thing about the law. If you wish to be under part of it, you have to take it all! Additionally, many of the OT blessings were conditional; if you do this…then you will get that. Most of them had a flip-side as well. Obedience brought forth blessings- disobedience brought forth curses.

  2. How is the mixed fabrics verse different from commands about tithing in this regard? Preaching about poly-cotton T-shirts doesn’t pay the light bill or the preachers’ salary________________

Now, I agree that some people may go to far in applying it for themselves & othersWhy not just interpret the New Testament and forget about what Malachi states? I’m sure you do a lot of Old Testament scriptures that way. I would think that you might want to keep the curses which the New Testament does not not talk about. Don’t hurt to scare a few folks into tithing.

  7. Forget about Malachi? And Malachi 3:6with it? It’s a beautiful illustration of my point. The gospel writers and Paul didn’t forget about the book. But I’m not saying people should use select scriptures to suit their own purposes. And I’m not saying we should use Malachi 3to scare people or to use it as a tool of coercion. (2 Corinthians 9:7) Though, there is a message for us in Malachi 3.By the way, people aren’t currently stoned for adultery either. Jesus didn’t seem to advocate that during His ministry.
