Does anyone know if Jentzen Franklin is in the CoG or not? I am referring to his ministerial license and the two churches he pastors? I do know that he served on the Council of 18 at one time. I ask this because I know he was with the Congregational Holiness Church for a long time. And I don’t really see his two churches listed as Church of God.
I believe he still holds COG credentials although his church is of another denomination.
Why do you care? Not a penny came out of your pocket.
I like Jentzen Franklin. I do think it matters how God’s money is spent. It appears that God doesn’t alway get to choose who speaks or who spends the money. The churches don’t always get to choose either. Some pastors and leaders waste it to their own glory or desire. I do pray that leaders will consider how people work hard for it and have to give up an awful lot to the government also who doesn’t spend it very well. Just saying I do sometime see problems.
An observation and comment but not on your topic or maybe it is a little. I have observed over the 40 some years I have been in the COG that no matter how much a small church would request certain speakers or singers to come they were always let down by required amount of money before they would even consider thinking of coming. I thought Jesus sent them out and told them not to worry themselves about, food, money or a place to stay. And yes I do know times have changed allot since Jesus did that. For example I went to a ladies conference many years ago the Lord moved greatly and I received from the Lord in that conference. On my way home I kept feeling the Lord urging me to call the speaker and schedule a date for her to come. I struggled for a while till I believed I had a confirmation from the Lord. I called her she told me how much she had to have in order to come and we had to provide the same accommodations for her traveling companion, she required hotel accommodations. At the time we lived in a 3 bedroom 2 bath house and I told her they could stay with us, it was just my husband and I so there was plenty of room but no that was not at all acceptable to her. Singing groups would require at least $1500 up front and then more when they came. Needless to say neither took place. Why should the larger churches be the only ones that can host the more elite speakers? Do you think Jesus is pleased with that?
