In a post discussing various jobs people have done at Campmeeting, shoe shines, snow cone machine, etc., 6thplayer 1 shared these words: You could make a small fortune at our camp meeting in southern Il. by just selling ear plugs.Which raises the question, HOW LOUD is the music at Southern IL. Campmeeting? Nothing negative intended here about that Campmeeting but thought some viewers might have fun with How Loud Is It? It’s so loud…Doyl________________
This is extremely sad. Reminds me how blessed I am to have a pastor who preaches and lives the truth, who allows the Holy Ghost to lead each service. This church, and this pastor you speak of need an awakening!
How could the rest inside Worship if they are going to run the rest that is worshipping outside. If they wanted to worship. They would be afraid to because they would have to move out side. It would be something if those worshippers they moved outside was so full of God and got to going from house to house around there and ask could I pray for you. And see Revival break out. Nothing is impossible with God.
You really think any man can throw the king of kings out of his house?! Not hardly! What’s the rest of story? Did he interrupt preaching ? Was he screaming during a worship time when God wanted to talk to his people? I would move him also if that happened. I love how you know the pastors thoughts. That’s your opinion. Give his name so he can respond.
This happens in church the pastor or a group hampers the Holy Spirit.
Return to the Old paths Church of God, and you’ll find rest for your soul
So sad
Most COGs want corporate shouting and won’t tolerate a lone shouter. The lone shouter is not prompted by a worship leader or a pastor but by the Holy Spirit. God is reaching out to the congregation through one person and the pastor and worship leader is by-passed. A wise leader has to learn to fall in line with the Holy Ghost.
David was a lone shouter
COG was founded on rugged individualism and evolved into an organized institutional institution very quickly. This maybe why the denomination lost R G Spurling. He fell into obscurity.
M from PNG cog and comment that COG needs true shepherds ,I see today many are claiming to be the servants of God and rushing to the pulpits and even present in big camps or meetings but God has no idea of them. PRODUCTIVITY IS NOT SEEN,Experienced dryness no converts no fire baptism, still at the outer courts making empty sacrifices and no results. Pastors are channels to the congregation but they are becoming blockages and congregation cannot enjoy God.
I guess they would be ushering me out then
Oh that “working up a crowd” was frowned upon today. The “world” has not place in the santuary. I don’t care how your 7-11 songs are.
Man you sound like the old legalistic religious I could not stand.
When I was growing up we did frown on anyone who we believed was working up the crowd. While we were emotional and Pentecostal we did know the difference and seems no one today recognizes this. It is the way of modern worship and is worst than ever before.
In the last service I attended at my home church the guest worship leader did his best to work up the congregation and was discouraged and you could see that he thought the congregation was dead. He should have been with us in the previous Sunday service!!
He was a a “Todd Bentley” wanna be. Maybe they didn’t like the pierced ears and body tattoos!
