Kevin Wallace versus the COG

Acts20.com NEW Acts-Celerate

I don’t know Kevin Wallace. We’ve interacted on here a couple of times. He seems like a typical COG preacher. But what’s really disappointing and unfortunate is the way he is being treated and will be treated by those still in the COG. He is still a believer and still a brother. It’s not: Kevin Wallace versus the COG – so let’s get the first punch in!If he’s totally wrong to leave, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness________________I’m not saved because I’m good. 1. Nice straw man brad. Debating something no one else is debating. The truth is most on the board love Kevin – and are sad to see him go.It has never been Kevin vs the Cog…except to you________________

  2. Kevin is much loved and will continue to be. His Ruach Conference will be made up of mostly CoG folks (and ministers). The only thing I’m not real keen on is the statement that he surrendered his credentials but did not ask to be removed from the Ooltewah CoG (Redemption Point) and will be planting a church there soon. I think it would have been classier to just leave that facility and focus on Chattanooga since 20 minutes down the road is a comfortable drive for any family to go to church so if they want to be a part of his work they can just make the small commute. But hey – an independent guy can do whatever he wants so I won’t fall out with him over that. I’ll just say IMO that’s the only thing I see that could be done better, if he is insistent on going indy. But we all love Kevin and will continue to do so. Most of us don’t see how in the world being CoG would keep him from doing everything he says he wants to do. PLW had 12 thousand on 4 campuses and his work is still CoG. There’s something going on that Kevin isn’t talking about. I don’t care to know what it is – I enjoy guessing about what it is. Don’t take that from me

  3. I didn’t mention the board other than to point out that here is where I’ve interacted with him. If

  4. I only speak for J Larry, I have absolutely nothing against the man. The CoG needs Kevin, apparently the feels like he don’t need the CoG and I have no problem with that.I bless him________________Recorded Sermons @ http://www.pastorwiley.com

  5. Have you ever left the COG?Are you sad like NBF…even thought KW is still in the family of God, the body of Christ, the ministry, the church and his community? Are you, like NBF, sad for KW or sad for the corporation?I left the COG in 2012. Perhaps I do know what I’m talking about________________I’m not saved because I’m good. 6. Have you ever left the COG?Are you sad like NBF…even thought KW is still in the family of God, the body of Christ, the ministry, the church and his community? Are you, like NBF, sad for KW or sad for the corporation?I left the COG in 2012. Perhaps I do know what I’m talking about. Or, perhaps you simply just enjoy doing this. Post something that isn’t accurate. Then when confronted, play word games, deflect questions, distract from the main discussion, and create an army of straw men. It’s pretty clear that you just like to argue________________

  7. It seems to me from watching the video that he feels a responsibility to the folks he pastored in Ooltewah for 14 years. I agree it may not be the most prudent thing to start a church there, but that was the sense I had about it. There probably is something we don’t know yet, but I think he’s tried hard to dot the i’s and cross the t’s and do everything he possibly could to be above board. He’s handled it as well as it could be handled. He has a dynamic ministry, and I wish him the best________________More of Him…less of me.twitter.com/camiracle77www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=691241499&ref=name

  8. Thanks SkinnyBI hope you’re right. I hope COG ministers aren’t sad that he left the church. I hope they don’t ascribe greed or ambition or liberalism or any other ill-motive to his decision. I hope they all treat him exactly the same as they did before. Since you seem to be eager to ascribe an ill-motive to my posts, I doubt he’ll get different treatment…unless you feel like he qualifies for it. ________________I’m not saved because I’m good. 9. No apology from Brad….anyone surprised? As for sadness, which Brad ascribes sinister motives to, the bottom line is this:For every real man, ones who all of us respect, guys that have meaningful posts that we all like to read…when they leave the COG, they also leave actscelerate…which is why we are sad.No evil motives, no ill will – just sad that his meaningful posts will no longer be here. ________________

  11. Definitely recommended. However, with everyone else gone – I guess I will just have to learn to settle for Brad’s posts. Not many others are left. ________________

  12. Sometimes, it’s best that they do leave NB. Why would we want Freeman as part of the COG if he is going to post all his nonsense?
