Revelation 20:10-15And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (KJV)Will those that are cast into the lake of fire die or will they be tormented day and night for ever and ever as well?
Not everyone at Lee is a Bible Scholar & even less a Christian. Possibly 7 years ago our family went on a tour of the University & to my surprise, the student assigned to give us the tour flat out told us she was not a Christian but liked the University setting so she got her parents to pay her expenses to attend. I can say much more about “higher ups” at the university, but this is enough for now.
I went there for a year and didn’t go back. So many fake Christians.
Back in the 60s one the best Christians I have had the privilege of knowing attended Lee College for a year, played basketball and quit because of the hypocrisy of the school.
comment on Actscelerate: “If they have a big pro abortion sign – and you got a picture – they should be terminated.
If they have a sign that says “women are great”…what’s the problem?
I can buy that!
another comment: “What happens is people make excuses for them and bury their heads in the sand. The marches organizers were 100% pro-abortion. The few times the spoke about about anything else it was “my body” or “women’s healthcare”, both code for abortion. The organizers and most anyone involved openly stated that pro-life women were not welcome (obviously because they were enslaved by religious men).
From the LA Times and several other sites. It was the general tone set by the discussion boards and organizers. Here’s a quote out of The LA Times
…. The ruckus began when the Atlantic reported Monday that the march organizers had recognized the New Wave Feminists, a Dallas-based antiabortion group, as one of hundreds of official partners. Hours later, the organizers issued a statement apologizing for “this error” and dropped the group from the list.
“The Women’s March platform is pro-choice and that has been our stance from day one,” the statement said.”
This post is beyond the scope of the group forum however it is extremely relevant to what is going on today in the church world.
It is relevant to the Church of God and I would like to see a discussion as this relates to the COG. If you have a good COG story that illustrates this please feel free to comment.
My hometown COG has seen this take place and is a painful reminder that we are loosing our precious church heritage.
I have just seen this happen in a small town COG. The name was changed from COG to Worship Center. I also saw it in an AG church also dropped the AG name and called it Connection Church. I saw the false doctrine proceeding out of the Purpose Driven Life and it made me sick. People that had been at the churches for 30 and 40 years left. They have to either start a new congregation or try to find a another church. Some of them just don’t go to church anymore, just worship with churches like Dallas, NC CHurch Of God. They don’t want to be hurt in their senior years.
Thanks for posting, Stan Cooke; I see this happening in various degrees in churches all around us….our church heritage is being threatened, but with God’s help, and the Power of the Holy Ghost, victory is sure!
Woe be unto false doctrine and false shepherds in the pulpits!!
Adrian Rogers wrote the forward to Purpose Driven and yet he resisted the plan in his own church. When he died the next pastor Steve Gaines implemented the changes set forth in Purpose Driven.
Adrian Rogers would roll over in his grave.
Sister Dirksen has blocked me and I can’t read her post on this. I sure would like to read it and the comments to the post.
Melvin Harter, thanks for sharing this.
Illegal immigration has always been a problem in the USA. The reason for such? Because our leaders have always made great promises of dealing with it, but never would. Trump is the only one who is literally honoring his promise. The Establishment thought Trump would do like all his predecessors. I take the same stand as that great evangelist of the early 1900s, Billy Sunday.
No I would not deny fellow Christians to come here, but let them come as legal immigrants.
We Americans sometimes are soft or slow in understanding why persecution is, because we have very little.
The Bible does say Love your neighbor as thyself.
The Bible does say to go into all the world and Preach the gospel.
It didn’t say go into all the world and preach the gospel and bring them back to Jerusalem or America. The converts were to stay in their own communities and win the lost there.
But does the Bible say run from persecution?
Did the apostles run from persecution?
Matthew 5:11-13 (KJV)
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Can the salt be useful in another plate. It must be in the food for which it is to be consumed?
James 1:2-4King James Version (KJV)
2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Have you ever thought that this could be just another ploy of Satan to get Christians out of the countries, when they could be on the verge of a revival?
