For any of you who knew the Barwicks, Sis. Mamie Alice Barwick (more fondly known as Sarge) went to her reward today. Her husband Walter was a pastor and overseer in NC (and other states, as well.) She directed the NC State Minister’s Wives Choir and played the piano almost every campmeeting. I am FB friends with her daughter, Davida, who is around my age. She has not been doing well for a while. Bro. Barwick has been her caregiver, and he is 90. Such a wonderful couple. They did so much for God’s people, and Sis Barwick taught a whole generation of us NC kids to play and sing. What a lady!
