I have noticed that the songs we sing in church now are much narrower in scope than the songs we sang when I was a youngster. Here is an article that promotes broadening our imagery, especially beyond the American romantic ideal, when we sing of God’s love.

Hundreds or probably thousands have suffered from this type of abuse and left the COG as a result.
There is nothing holy about remaining silent when faced with human suffering. Christians don’t want to be bothered, it would seem.
On the subject of holy things….Bitterness? Gossip? BackBitting? Strife among the brethren? Are these holy Charles? Go to the one who offended you and leave it there.
