I do not know who Piper is (If I should, please remember I live under a rock).If I should, I’m sorry. But on the surface it is sound logic. I do not think a pastor should take a vow of poverty, however I was raised by a dedicated pastor who did not want to be paid more than the upper middle of his congregation. Today I do not know if he was right or not, but everything ‘extra’ my dad had, went back into the church or missions. At his death his total savings was $750, a car we had given him and a cabin on the NC campground.God blessed his children and he nor my mother would have gone needing. I just do not believe in millionaire preachers, right or wrong, that is my opinion.
