People! There ain’t no perfect people who have run for or have been elected as President!One of the least effective Presidents in my lifetime was Jimmy Carter. He was and is a dedicated Christian. At over 90, he still teaches Sunday School to over 300 each week. I have so much respect for that and hope to be part of that class next Sunday.Following Jimmy Carter as President, was Ronald Reagan. He seldom attended church and along with his wife, at times consulted a Medium – but he was a great President who could lead this nation. Lincoln, who guided us through the Civil War, along with his wife, at times attended seances (totally forbidden in Scripture). FDR smoked and had a mistress who was with him when he died, but he guided us through World War II.Nobody can know what kind of President Trump will be. He has situations going on with multiple marriages, owning casinos and not being that conservative, but the dude is a leader. With both the Demos & Repub establishments working frantically against him, he continues to build his lead toward the nomination.I believe that Cruz, Rubio, Carlson and Huckabee, are all dedicated Christians, but none of them are proving to be the leader Trump is proving to be. Right now, this nation desperately needs a strong leader. When I board a flight I don’t ask, Is the pilot gay? Does he support abortion? Is he conservative? Has he only been married once?What I want to know is, can this guy fly this plane and get us to our destination? I do wish Trump was nicer, wiser in his language and was a better example of dynamic Christian faith. But right now, I just want someone who can move this nation forward.When World War II in Europe was going badly, one of our Generals began to win and push the enemy back. The guy had all kinds of faults including bad language and a pushy attitude. However, General Patton was a winner when we desperately needed one.We Christians want purity in leadership but, Abraham lied, David committed adultery, Apostle Peter denied Jesus three times and Apostle Paul took a verbal slap (threatened him) at the General Overseer of his denomination. We still think they were great faith leaders.That’s my opinion. What’s yours?Doyl________________
All the time in my church
in my upbringing I heard a lot till I left for the Army in 1966. It was a common practice. We had a prophet who ministered on a regular basis until he was appointed to a Church and is still pastoring that Church and was honored in the last Camp meeting in Tennessee along with about 30 other pastors who had long term pastorates.
I returned from the Army in 68 enrolled in Lee and from that time on I heard very little prophecying.
Charles Page If exercise of the gifts are getting less or over time, maybe the place to look is the 1960’s and ask why prophesying seemed to happen less often rather than skipping ahead to now and asking why people stopped speaking in tongues in church.
Church of God definitely is anointed. Though it is worth taking notation that any human construct will fall if Christ is not the head. I feel what you’re saying though.

Think back to the teaching and preaching of Jesus and you come up with quiet scenes where people were sitting down and listening. Even now most christians think of church as a place where there is order, everybody sings together on the same page, on the same stanza and when someone is speaking others listen. You speak of a unique culture that has found it’s expression only in the last 100 years or so. A hint at how loud we ought to be is found in Mt.6:6 ” But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.”

A wife is to submit onto her own husband it doesn’t say to Amy other man or group… But her own. If you don’t like that is your problem for looking. My wife dresses for ma and I for her not the church.
