Some on here seem to have a problem with the proclamation of Gods calling on lives. There seems to be no problem with someone proclaiming that they are a pastor or teacher but when it comes to a prophet or apostle you just don’t proclaim that fact.

In my experience the folks who have Apostle printed on their business cards are a bunch of wahoos. They have sullied the title.Just my O. ________________Charles A. HutchinsSenior Pastor SPWCCongregational Church of Godwww.spwc.church
If they cling to the title and go out of their way to introduce themselves as Prophet this or Apostle that I usually tend to keep my guard up. But when someone is ministering at your church and the gifts of their calling manifest it is a sweet Spirit …as long as they don’t brag about it as I’ve heard some do.I have at times used a pastor friend to minister and he’s quite the character but the gift of a prophet def flows through this guy. I like him cause he doesn’t make anything over it, he just lets the Lord use him & the people are blessed. We had a couple who had multiple miscarriages & he prophesied they would have a son in 12 months. There is a lot more to the story but 12 months later they had their son, nice & healthy.________________Empty nest syndrome is for the birds!Email me at: [email protected] planters are focused on just one thing …introducing people to Jesus!
True QW, I find myself in that exact position. I really don’t want t be ….. but…. Some folk know how to push the WRONG buttons and cause mental rejection. ________________Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/
Aside from the abuses, there are also sometimes cultural influences. In some cultures, being called by a title seems very important for some reason and the person tends to get miffed if they are not called by the title of Apostle or even Minister. But yeah….it’s sorta like being a Christian. You don’t have to go around telling everyone you are one. If you are a prophet or apostle, it will be very apparent. Most folks who truly walk in that calling are quite humble about it unless they are new in their journey & still finding their way________________More of Him…less of me.twitter.com/camiracle77www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=691241499&ref=name

Proclaim your calling
It was mentioned in some of the posts that abuses by prophets was a good reason for not having one at your church. I have been abused by pastors on a number of occasions so I guess you would agree that we need to use elders to carry out church instead of pastors.
Its already been stated, CA. Printing the office on a business card, church sign, website, etc., is little more thanSelf-aggrandizement Self-promotion for personal gainSelf-exaltation
Why not?
If a man or woman knows they have been called to be an evangelist or pastor, wouldn’t they know if they were called to be an apostle (Paul and Peter did). Yet, I daresay to even approach the stature of either Paul or Peter and call oneself an apostle is a bold step, but if that is the calling that is the calling. I believe we are skeptical because of abuses. So, what is an apostle, or a prophet to do?Regarding the Prophet in the early church, if the prophet came to the assembly seeking to raise funds for himself they were to reject him. If he came to raise funds for a cause, accept him.If he came and had some odd mannerisms, don’t reject him unless he insists others observe the same mannerisms. And, prophets were primarily itinerant, but should they settle in a community, they were considered worthy of support. From the Didach________________God-HonoringChrist-CenteredBible-BasedSpirit-Led
For the most part I think many folks just don’t know what the role or assignment of duty entails for Apostle Jones or Prophet Jones.I have known a few guys who claim the title but they tend to be kinda lazy & moochers. I don’t feel comfortable using someone who doesn’t have a plan for their ministry calling. My dad used to have a guy come to his church who operated in the most exciting faith with wonderful miracles. I witnessed many things take place in the altar calls that were miraculous. He & his wife were very happy to just keep it humble & meager for themselves & I appreciated his humility. He prayed for an elderly lady who walked bent over with a bad limp but after a short prayer & after she shook her hair pins out she walked straight & normal. Another lady was totally blind & after prayer with laying on of hands she had her sight completely returned & her doc declared her to have 20/20 vision.I had a prophet declare a private thing to me one time and only a handful of people knew the background & details. When he finished I fell out in the Spirit (he never got closer than about 20′ from me) To this day his prophecy is still accurate & he & I have never had a conversation with each other. Declare it or not I just like it when they let God use them under the anointing & don’t make a big show out of it.________________Empty nest syndrome is for the birds!Email me at: [email protected] planters are focused on just one thing …introducing people to Jesus!
