The Sign on cable
My wife and I watched the cable movie The Sign last week. Much of its content we have heard at other times – planets aligning, secret planets coming our way, calendar numerology, Jewish Holy Days, Israel dates, and natural disasters, along with wars and rumors of wars. If Jesus is coming on the 23rd (tomorrow), I say come on Lord, come. If it is the beginning of the Trib, I say great, we are getting closer to the Second Coming. However, if it does not happen, we are having church the next day. If it does happen, some will be around to carry on (they had their chance), or if its the beginning of the Trib, maybe the church will be full and overflowing.

I became friends with a couple who sold all they had and gave to a preacher in Moberly Missouri who had a date the LOrd was returning. Since that time I have wondered what people do who ‘swear’ something is going to happen and does not.This couple and about a 100 people followed the man down to the Ozarks to a place where God had directed him. They were broken and embarrassed folk when they returned. The preacher just said, I must have misunderstood God.
