I am not the LEAST bit upset if Russia gave Trump some negative stuff about Hillary. NOT because I think it’s a good idea to dish out the dirt. And not because I didn’t want Hillary to win. But because if it’s TRUE, then I don’t care where it came from–from a Republican operative, from some turncoat in Hillary’s campaign, or from the Russians.Now, yes, if the Russians messed with the actual voting in our nation, then I’m all for destroying our entire world by nuking them, of course. And, yes, it will be worth them nuking us back and killing our loved ones and us, since they messed with our democracy.The United States is FAR, FAR, FAR above that sort of thing! Mess with actual voting??? NEVER!!! We simply assassinate or use the media to ruin reputations or pour money into the campaign of the one we want to win or destabilize the country until the right military leader takes over. You know–Vietnam and Shah of Iran stuff.Why is it OK to get dirt on the opposition so long as it comes from a filthy American source? Is the dirt somehow cleaner if it comes from Americans? America has preferences for who we want to win foreign elections. There is no way, Jose, that we haven’t interfered in election after election after election in an attempt to get who we wanted in power. EVERY nation likely has some interest in who wins an election in other countries. Apparently, it’s only acceptable if WE do it.We shouldn’t be reaching out to a foreign power to win. This seems to give place for blackmail (e.g., Russia will tell how you used their intelligence to win unless you comply with our wishes), and at the best, a distinct distaste. But when you get right down to it, was it wrong? I’m thinking the answer is Probably not. The junk that each party obtains and spews may ALREADY come from foreign sources to some degree, but goes through enough hands until it is Americanized by the time a political party puts it to use.
