The Declaration of Faith of the Church of God can be amended through a rigorous process in general assemblies. What are the possibilities of eliminating sanctification subsequent to justification and regeneration and hold to a progressive work with regeneration.
It seems to me that there would be sufficient support to make that amendment. There seems to be so few who support a definite and entire work of sanctification subsequent to the new birth.
OR would the Church hold to a hundred plus years belief though no one believes it?
What are your thoughts?

I’m not sure but I don’t think it has ever been amended. I’m not COG anymore but will always love it and I would be afraid any amendment would lead to lots of amendment.
It will be a sad day in the CoG if they get rid of sanctification as a second work of grace.
there are processes to amend by-law, teachings and Declaration of Faith.

The breaking of the power of sin and the washing from its pollution are separate and distinct works of divine grace and are both instantaneous. God does not forgive GRADUALLY; neither does He cleanse GRADUALLY. Our growth in grace and our development from childhood in manhood is gradual, but not our forgiveness and cleansing. Satan is most interested in blocking the way to complete cleansing. He knows that if we stop short of that, he stands a much better chance of defeating us. Growth is not sanctification, but the act of removing those things which hinder the Christian’s growth is Entire Sanctification. The grace of sanctification is not directly promised to the world, as we learn from the prayer of Jesus in the 17th chapter of John, but it is reserved for those who have forsaken the world and have been made alive from the death of sin by the regenerating Spirit of God. So, for the Christian who would be sanctified wholly- good pedigrees & meritorious works do not count.
“The blood is my plea, nothing else will make us whole.” We are sanctified by the blood & it is the merit of the blood of Jesus which enables us to come in faith and confidence for the blessing.
In conclusion, the work of cleansing is not progressive. When God forgives, he forgives all, instantaneously. When he sanctifies, He sanctifies wholly instantaneously.

And went to Detroit Mich. and receive the Holy Ghost, and was soon ordained to the ministry. been preaching over 64 years now, when I received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, I had gone to church 9 weeks in a roll, the night I received the Holy Ghost, I felt a sensation in my right hand, I said God if this is real knock me over with it, He said raise your right hand, I raised my right hand, old slew foot sat on my shoulder and whispered in my ear, and said you are dying I said devil I am ready to die and I left my body, It felt like I was going through space at the speed of light, and I thought I was going to be with Jesus Christ for ever, It was as though I was within six feet of heaven and God sent me back into my body, and God spoke to me and said ,( Take my yoke upon you and follow me I am Alpha And Omega the water is deep but I will carry you through, and he also said I have called you to pray for the sick) and I have witnessed God healing many people. over the years, testimonies like this is what I want to here, not all this arguing back and forth. 6 8 16 I believe the Bible says let every one work out his own Salvation with fear and trembling, OI might go to hell but it won’t be because I have tried to deceive people, and get money out of them or set myself up on a pedestal, and I don’t lie to folks and tell them to repeat a sinners prayer after me and I tell them they are born again, I believe in a know so Salvation, when you know that you know you have been born again, pray until you have prayed through, when you pray through you will know you have been born again, your prayer will come from your heart not just your lips. there is only one way to Jesus Christ, and that is through a heart felt repentance, when you truly get saved you will give up the old habits old slew foot Satan has the devil has introduced you to. God loves the sinner, that is the reason for my Salvation , I have been told I preach the same old thing over an over And I am guilty of it the only thing I know to preach and that is Jesus Christ and him crucified, and I will preach it if it hair lips a monkey swinging on a grape vine. I want people to truly get saved, that is what I am living for.
