Like who? I certainly hope COG and other Pentecostal churches don’t start agreeing with this guy.
I do think we need to realize that a lot of people think of ‘gay’ or ‘homoexual’ as the way someone is born. They think of ‘gay’ or ‘homosexual’ as meaning ‘being attracted to the same sex.’
Ask a lot of Baby Boomers, GenXers, or Fundamentalist Christians what a ‘homosexual’ is and they think of a man who does nasty sex acts with some other man, or a woman who does nasty sex acts with another woman.
Gen-Y audiences, and audiences influenced by the propaganda and terminology of the LGBT movement are going to think of ‘homsoexual’, ‘gay’, and ‘lesbian’ as a state of being. ‘Gay virgin’ makes sense to them.
So if a preacher says, “Gays are on their way to Hell.” or “Homosexuals are on their way to Hell.”, young people in your audience may just think you mean that if they find themselves attracted to the same sex, then they are on their way to Hell. So we need to be careful how we communicate.
If someone understands some basic doctrine of Christianity regarding lust and sin, then it isn’t that hard to understand that it’s possible to have a desire and for it to be wrong to act on that desire. Men with normal sexual desires have to deal with those issues when it comes to not lusting after women. Women have to deal with that when it comes to not lusting after men.
If a man has lust for a woman, that doesn’t make it right for him to have sex with her. Homosexuals desiring the same sex doesn’t make having sex with the same sex right.
We need to explain that God knows best. Nature also illustrates the opposite genders are what reproduce. There are a lot of good logical and Biblical arguments that can be made. We can also point out the number the LGBT movement and the mediahas pulled on the American people by teaching them that disagreeing with their agenda of sexual perversion constitutes ‘hate.’
I used to live in the ‘808’ area code and I saw a sign at a local university that read, “no hate in the 808.’ It was promoting the LGBT agenda.
They are not gay, but ungrateful to God for who HE made them to be. They choose to behave against their biological nature. As Christians who serve the living God, we love them & everyone, but must guide them to the truth in God’s word. Being rebellious comes natural to many human beings until they discover the love of God.
Therefore, they are in need of spiritual deliverance, but it happens when they acknowledge their sin, just as anyone would understand that pornography, adultery, coveting, stealing, murdering, blaspheming, hating, lying about others… are all sins that human beings should repent of as well.
Just because some follow a line of thinking doesn’t mean that God has come to follow that line of thinking. God does not and never has accepted what is presented here.
Charles Page, was God opposed to these external things or was it something man concocted? Or are you being facetious? My opinion is that God looks on the heart, and my opinion was found in a Scripture verse. Don’t get me started!
The problem is, too many people who say they are Christian get bogged down in “the way” and in their following take their eyes off the Lord Jesus.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”
2 Cor. 5:17-19
Too many people today who say they are Christian do not have the Holy Spirit of God in them and are incapable of reconciling according to God’s will.
serious discussion about gays acceptance by Christians!

No one is born with sexual desires. That behavior comes later when people decide to act in that manner.
Surely, there are demonic factors in place when they opened the door to those perverted spirits, but it was a choice nonetheless.
Therefore, they are in need of spiritual deliverance, but it happens when they acknowledge their sin, just as anyone would understand that pornography, adultery, coveting, stealing, murdering, blaspheming, hating, lying about others… are all sins that human beings should repent of as well.
Generally, if someone says they have lusts for some unnatural sex act, I take them at their word for it unless its obvious that they are joking.
Pathetic! So, u know some like this. Cog? I don’t. We love the sinner but hate the sin.

God at one time was opposed to jewelry and women’s slacks but has now changed his mind! Perhaps this is a new view he is proposing!
