I would imagine that certain versions of Islam are much more prone to violence against women, abuse of girls, rape, sexual abuse, etc. than secular western culture or any self-professed Christian culture. ISIS would be a key example. Some of the other very traditional groups seem to be that way. Of course, my impressions are informed by the news. I've never been to the Gulf region or the Levant. These sorts of things weren't culturally acceptable in the predominantly Muslim country I lived in. I'm sure sexual abuse occurs in cultures all around the world. And a Muslim in Indonesia could pull some news story off the Internet about a preacher in the US or some random family in the US or Europe who abused children.Western culture is rather sexually immoral and decadent in a lot of ways compared to Indonesian culture. My knowledge of Indonesia is nearly a decade out of date, but when I was there, virginity was the cultural norm before marriage for men and women. In the US, being a virgin before marriage after a certain age is treated as strange or even shameful. Indonesians read reports of Indonesian maids who go to Saudi Arabia and get abused. I remember I've heard Indonesians comment on how the people from Saudi Arabia can be cruel. I don't remember if I heard any non-Christians say that, though. Muslims in Indonesia are a force that put some limits on pornography, premarital sex, and certain other forms of immorality in the country. They do have some family values that we can agree on
