As an Ordained Bishop in my mid-40's, I'm all open to new blood and thinking younger leadership stepping forward...as long as we do not throw away decades of experience and wisdom in the process. My question is sincere! What do these new people being promoted bring to the table?Length of sermons? Style of speaking? Financial creativity? Perspectives from younger generation? Better clothes and shoes? New message?I'm 100% for younger men and have been voting as such for 20 years. My voting record would reflect an agreement with Marty Baker and Tom Sterbens, etc...Can someone, however, tell me why Tony Stewart (whom I love, like, respect and know quite well on a personal level) would be a better choice for the Executive Committee than say...Dennis McGuire (whom I love, like, respect and know quite well on a personal level)?

This is not intended to be controversial...but rather an opportunity to know why a person is BETTER QUALIFIED because of their thinking or the age of their blood.America bought into change in 2008...and we got change alright. Now that we have a political campaign site for candidates, the whole game has changed. Maybe that's a good thing...?

I am NOT in the system, voting or engaged, but your question is so excellent I'd like to give an answer of why I would vote one way or another in the context of your interrogative.I would vote FOR Tony Stewart BECAUSE I can see the evidence of what he is doing in an everyday engagement with his community via his congregation as individuals and corporately.I would not vote for Rev McGuire for the reason I see no recent evidence of ministry outside the community of pastors and ministers, and no matter how wise, good, excellent at oratory or administration he might be, he has no recent track record in the trenches that examples for the rest of the movement. This has NOTHING to do with age but activity. We should, at all times, look to practitioners over theorists in the cultivation of movement. People who are weeping and working between the porch and the altar should always be preferred over administrators in the cocoon of the organization or those who are simply preachers that can stir church people in a protected environment.I want someone who is in the Chamber of Commerce to lead me in mission instead of someone who is in the chambers of church offices Live an epiK life!Discover More...www.refocusing.orgA Mission in Formationwww.bluewaterinthekeys.com
