I would hate to have a job begging money, hard way to make a living. Perhaps, but this is something that's easy to believe in. It would be difficult to be a fund raiser for an unworthy cause ---------My Facebook www.facebook.com/theB3

I would hate to have a job begging money, hard way to make a living. The administrators may block me for this statement, but that will be alright. This is not a personal attack (since I don't know who you are). It is an open rebuke. That is, by far, one of the dumbest statements that I have ever read on this board!

This is not a personal attack (since I don't know who you are). It is an open rebuke. That is, by far, one of the dumbest statements that I have ever read on this board! The fact that you see raising support for the Great Commission of Jesus Christ as a job begging money is absolutely mind blowing! I can't think of a responsibility with more dignity and honor than to raise support and awareness for Church of God World Missions and the Church of God missionaries who have given their lives for the sake of Christ! I really, really, hope that no one else shares such a view of the mission field. I am absolutely stunned by such a statement! Wow! LHF I know you are sincere in your critique. BUT I have been in a few services where the pressure and technique used were way out there. To the point of demanding. There is something about a man wearing $300 shoes and $700 suit driving a Mercedes, pressuring folks who work 48 hours a week pay tithe and give to missions and their church who are wearing hand me downs and driving 20 year old cars, who do give sacrificially already, that just don't feel right. It is that someone seems to say that is not enough. Just saying you might not know where the commentor is coming from. I am from a mission minded family, love missions I have 4 good friends who are/were on the mission field. Yes, we have had missions reps refuse to sleep in our home, as a boy I thought that was peculiar. Since I had general overseers sleep in my bed and eat mama's cooking.Sometimes you just have to be there Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/

Cojak, I too have been in mission services in local churches where the appeal for donations could have been more prudent, more connected and with less guilt cast on the congregation. There is a much better way.But men wearing $300 shoes and $700 suits was not in practice by most field representatives. Some drove older Mercedes with Diesel engines that they purchased cheaper than most cars in the parking lot because of the extensive travel. In earlier years, it was common for missions personnel to stay with the pastor or some designated person. In later years, it became more convenient for pastors and missions people to find reasonable lodging in a motel

Are you including Cojak's statement amongst what you are calling ignorant?
