I had to wait to read this, my eyes sometimes come up with blank spots, probably old age.I had a tough time following the article. I do not agree with the title of it, that is for sure. Basically saying a sin is a sin, huh? It is a sin for women to teach men, and also a sin to fornicate. I don't care for the woman's findings or beliefs.I do feel, if you are a firm believer that the scripture actually means a woman should remain 'silent', then having a Female SS teacher is wrong. In the same vein, if a woman can pastor a church she should be commissioned to head the sacraments and be an official leader.My daddy did not believe in half sins. It depends on what they are teaching..

My point in posting this thread is to point out the outlandish but natural conclusions that come from certain interpretations of 1 Timothy 2:12.If that verse means a woman may not teach a man at all, then one has to conclude a woman teaching a man is a sin.

You are NOT hearing the same talking points from the men of the Church of God! I was in the thick of the argument for some weeks or months, and with some small exceptions, both sides were fairly respectful. And overwhelmingly those who were against women in leadership certainly didn't try to act like a woman was not permitted to be a minister at all!Now, it may FEEL that way to you, but as someone who does--at least at this time--oppose women in denominational leadership, I take gentle exception to your comment that this was emblematic of the thoughts and comments of Church of God men. Yes, we can all find some crazy exceptions. But I think the most brought a balanced view--even if they were in disagreement.
