OT passages be taken out of context and used as though they apply to ever single believer today? For example, Deut. 22:11 reads,

That's the sticky thing about the law. If you wish to be under part of it, you have to take it all! Additionally, many of the OT blessings were conditional; if you do this...then you will get that. Most of them had a flip-side as well. Obedience brought forth blessings- disobedience brought forth curses.

How is the mixed fabrics verse different from commands about tithing in this regard? Preaching about poly-cotton T-shirts doesn't pay the light bill or the preachers' salary

For me, these scriptures mean that all of the OT promises were fulfilled in Christ, all of the conditions of those promises were met in and by Christ and His righteousness and obedience are set to my account.2 Cor. 1:20 For as many as are the

Don't forget the tithing scriptures when you bring up this discussion. Consider Malachi 3

Ventureforth stated:But we don't disregard Malachi 3. We interpret it in light of the New Covenant. What is it teaching us today? Now, I agree that some people may go to far in applying it for themselves & othersWhy not just interpret the New Testament and forget about what Malachi states? I'm sure you do a lot of Old Testament scriptures that way. I would think that you might want to keep the curses which the New Testament does not not talk about. Don't hurt to scare a few folks into tithing.
