I was very disappointed politically and through common sense. I read that the president called personally and told the Rep to abstain. I hate that. Israel is our only real ally in the area (IMO).I could be wrong, but if I remember correctly the main stumbling block to some talk is the fact that the PLO refuses to acknowledge Israel is a nation and that it has no rights whatsoever to a place in the middle east.I sorta liked the position one high official in Israel took in response to Obama's statement about returning the land they had taken in a war. Jordan never asked for it back after 67 war.The UN resolution after the 67 war was to serve as a framework for negotiations and not terms for settlement.
