This documentary, starting at 20:33, plays a recording in which Jerry Lee Lewis expressed his concern about the music he was playing, that it was the Devil's music.He also shared some of his thoughts about salvation. He doesn't call it that. He sounded like the kind of man it was difficult to have a conversation with even back then when he was young. I believe Jerry Lee Lewis. His cousin Jimmy Swaggart was in the A/G. I'm not sure about Jerry Lee. What do you think about his soteriology? Was this typical of COG beliefs in that era as well

Not only were they raised AG

They both went to our main Bible College CBC (Central Bible College) of Springfield, Mo., until Jerry Lee got kicked out. He actually started playing the piano in chapel and got carried away and unbuttoned his shirt and took it off and started swinging it around. That was the straw that broke the camels back and out he was. Jimmy tried for years to bring him back into the fold but Jerry Lee never got over it as far as I know. He might have gotten right with God on his own but it's doubtful. My very good friend was a childhood friend who was raised with them, she is a missionary from Baton Rouge and is a friend also of Mickey Gillie their cousin. She has told us many stories of the days at CBC with Jimmy etc.

I preached a two-week revival in Ferriday, LA in about 1959 at the Church of God. Jerry Lee's parents and sister lived directly across the street from the church. His parents attended practically every one of the services. David Beatty's parents also lived on the same street
