Some Questions:What cities in the West (

California is almost 40 million strong in population with the world's 7th most powerful economy.In Northern California we almost have a 50/50 balance of churches closed & sold to the amount of churches still open for the last 25 years or so. So where we used to have & own properties with church buildings some of them are long gone & so are the members.A small piece of property here can be worth 7 digits easy.The entire Bay Area surrounding San Francisco is a target, SF alone needs a major church plant. I believe we have 1 church in San Jose, CA with over 1 million in population.Way more cities to list where there is no ZERO presence of a CoG ministry.We have a few churches in Sacramento.Northern Cal above Sacramento has a few really good churches.South of Sacramento (almost 300 miles) to Bakersfield we have about 15-20 churches sprinkled out over this vast San Joaquin Valley.In Southern Cal we have a better representation of churches but the population is so immense that we could grow 999% over what we have & still need more. So Cal is about 25 million of the overall population base with maybe 60-65 churches overall. We have one church that is near the San Diego area.We have a handful of churches sprinkled out among the central coast (think Monterey, Carmel, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz) & the weather is the most awesome year round weather in the world, Golfers paradise! Best trophy fishing in the world & beaches for hundreds of miles.Tiny handful of churches in Oregon, Washington & Idaho. In fact those 3 states could all plant 100 churches each & we could use 100 more.

If I could pick any city for the COG to plant a church, it would be Boise, ID. Years ago I prayed about planting a church there - but that wasn't what God had in mind. All together the Boise, Nampa & Meridian tri-cities consist of almost 700,000 according to 2014 population stats. It's a mormon town but other mainstream pentecostal churches have done well there. Years ago I went on vacation to Seattle. I've got some family up there. It's an area that needs the Gospel. I know there are solid churches outside our tribe that are doing great, like City Church, Judah Smith. My oldest son lived in Seattle for 9 years & when I would go see him you could sense a spirit of darkness all over that city. They need salvation like no other city I have ever known, including some of the 3rd world places I've been to.I live fairly close to San Francisco (1 hour) & we all know that SF is known for it's diverse lifestyles & gay communities. We have stayed the night in SF multiple times & we have several nice restaurants we enjoy using. In the last 20 years I doubt I have seen more than a half dozen gays exhibiting affection out in the open, including Golden Gate Park.In Seattle, the gay lifestyle & transgender community are super strong & very outspoken about their life choices. We saw PDA's amongst the gays every day on almost all public streets & in the tourist corridors. The comment was made how that Seattle has become the mecca for the homosexual lifestyle on the west coast. Yes ...we definitely need a strong move of God in Washington & especially in the Seattle area!! I think probably the ripest field in the US for the CoG is in Texas. It's the fastest growing state for years, very business friendly and very friendly to churches as well. Yet the CoG has less than 200 (non-hispanic/Indian) churches here! Our church is getting ready to plant another church soon, and if you know someone that wants to come here, send them my way! I live in Fort Worth which is an awesome city (we don't go to Dallas or even recognize them!) Great art, music, food, laid back feel, lots of family-friendly stuff to do. At the same time, there is tons of potential here. Plus, I don't think the resistance here would be as thick as it would be in Cali or Seattle imho. Just based on your summary California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington & Arizona represent just under 61 million in population with Calif. at 39.14 of that number. Almost 1 in 5 Americans live in just these 5 states & you think Texas is the hot spot? Shouldn't you be asking how many churches there are in a region, rather than just how many COGs there are? If a town in California had a lot of A/G's, Charismatic churches, and Foursquare churches, is there as compelling argument for starting a COG denominational church there as there would be for a place with not a lot of churches

Sure...but I am a CoG guy. AND, 70% of people in the city I live in don't go to church anywhere. Since there are 7 million people in the Fort Worth area, that means around 5 million people here are not connected to a faith community--and that's just in our fair burg. And yes, I am biased toward TEXAS, Dean! Because #1--it's awesome (typical Texan, right?)#2--it's where I am #3--there's still a need here. Yes, it is the hotspot--just visit in August, and you'll see! But also because tons of people from the all over are moving here for the business friendly environment with still relatively low cost of living. Plus we have millions of immigrants, mostly from Mexico, but really all over. So, I don't really care...go to Oregon or Zimbabwe or Chattanooga. If God calls you to plant a church, just go! But if you are looking for a place, there's still need here, even in God's country.
