The demands of the gospel are extreme. God commands men everywhere to repent. God hath exalted his Son Jesus, raising him from the dead and sitting him as his own right hand far above every principality and power. Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Lest a man be born of water and of the Spirit he shall not see the kingdom of God. We are witnesses to these and so is the Holy Ghost which God has given to those who OBEY him. If any man has not the Spirit of Christ he does not belong to Christ.NEVER did the Apostles in Acts try to share the gospel in the manner we do today. It was never about relating to people and such. They never deviated from their narrow message no matter what culture they were preaching to. Certainly there was radical love between believers and the love of God was shed abroad in their hearts by the Holy Ghost that God had given to them, but the message to the sinner was one of God's demands. The gospel will always seem to be good news to those who humble themselves, repent and surrender to the lordship of Jesus. Their ceasing to be a rebel at war with God will flood their heart with peace, joy, love and acceptance. God will always give grace to the humble. The church needs to abandon the man-centered happiness gospel it currently preaches and start preaching Christ again. We need to stop trying to make church interesting and relevant. The gospel is not about us, it's about Christ
