If I remember right, J Edgar Hoover was a household name for integrity. The FBI was good at their job and under his direction did become a very good investigative arm. At the same time he was gathering information to guarantee him a job with NO interference.I do not doubt that every president has used his authority to pressure The FBI, and IRS especially to do some dirty work. BUT I do believe there is still some integrity in the FBI. Like any law enforcement group there are rogues who would do anything to please the powers that be. I do not believe my local law enforcement is crooked, but I do think at least one cop is.Anyone in the top ranks of the FBI (Or any agency) knows that they walk a tight rope, too much money out there to temp the disloyal 'leaks' that can take even a president down. I would move to the 'islands' if I could not trust law enforcement over all. WE are a long way from a police state, thank God. Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/
