“Again I [Jesus] say unto you, That if two of you shall AGREE on earth as touching any THING that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father which is in Heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:19,20)The word that Jesus used for “agree” in the above verse literally means “to stipulate (demand) by contract, to arrange definitively by covenant.”Therefore, when Jesus said “If two of you shall agree,” He was actually saying, “If two of you will stipulate (place a demand upon) our arranged contract or covenant… ”
