I have a neighbor who is an alcoholic, on the wagon, doesn't like AA and does well.My Grandson was completely ruining a great career in programming, is in AA and is doing great. 4 years sober now and still attends.Some people need something, and AA does as good as any. Some people can kick it with out it, I did. As far as I can tell they do not 'push' any religion, but do affirm that there is a God that helps. AA worked for a friend of mine.Never went back. God probably helped too
