I am proud of my father, Rod Cannon of Zolfo Springs, FL. He was chosen by our Congressional Rep. Tom Rooney (R, FL-17) to be the guest chaplain for the day. His prayer and Mr. Rooney's remarks are now part of permanent congressional record in the Library of Congress. In addition to this honor, the family was invited into the Speaker of the House's office for a photo with Mr. Rooney and Speaker Boehner. We were also blessed with a private tour of the Capitol into rooms not available to the public, including the Speaker's private balcony. My dad is the son of a former COG pastor and state youth director (C.G.Cannon). I post this because he won't do it for himself, and I am truly proud of the ministry he does in his small rural community. Plus, our government needs as much prayer as they can get.
