Dr. Ben Carson, a brilliant medical doctor, seems to have some strange opinions about a lot of non-medical issues. His latest is that the pyramids were not built as tombs for the pharaohs, but Joseph built them to store grain. How in the world does he know that? What about the bodies of the pharaohs and the royal items found inside them? But he's also a Seventh Day Adventist which according to CARM believes the following:1.Our sins will ultimately be placed on Satan.2.Jesus is Michael the Archangel.3.Worship must be done on Saturday (the Sabbath).4.On October 22, 1844 Jesus entered the second and last phase of his atoning work.5.Investigative Judgment--the fate of all people will be decided based upon this event in the future.6.The dead do not exist anymore--soul sleep.7.The wicked are annihilated.8.Ellen G. White, the founder of Seventh Day Adventism, was a messenger from God gifted with the spirit of prophecy.9.There is a sanctuary in Heaven where Jesus carries out His mediatorial work.

I'm not convinced that happened, but there's really no telling how people who identify as Christian might vote or why. I can't get over how supportive they are of Trump. In any case, my question about a candidate is not what kind of strange beliefs does their religion have. My only interest in that would be how much it would effect the way the candidate governed. I don't know that the odd beliefs above would necessarily effect the way Carson would govern. If it came down to Carson and Hillary Clinton, I can tell you I would NOT be voting for the Methodist candidate!

I personally know very good, conservative, Christians who didn't vote for him because of his beliefs, and the polls have shown that millions of otherwise conservative voters stayed home during the election. I know for a fact that hispanic Pentecostal churches were preaching against Mormonism from the pulpits and telling the people that Mormons were racists because they believed the whole Ham was cursed and turned black doctrine.

Some said Romney lost because he was not conservative enough. I think he lost because Obama outdid him in campaigning in Ohio. But be that as it may, I really don't know if Carson's religious beliefs will be a liability. I'm almost certain the liberal media will try to make it so in the same way they tried to paint Palin as a kook because she attended a church that believed in speaking in tongues ~gasp~. But I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens. Carson is polling better than I would have thought (as is Trump, lol).

I doubt if I would vote for an out and out Atheist. but I get very concerned when I see a man's personal religious beliefs brought into a government job application.Personally I believe Mr. Jeffress and many like him did hurt Romney. Bad enough to cost the election I do not know.I have known only one seventh day guy, and i would not question his patriotism. As a President I want a man of good character, smart enough to get wise advisors. I was amazed when I heard a Christian man say, I refused to vote for Romney, he does not know the real Jesus.I wonder if you could actually go into the minds of past presidents, what they actually believed? I know it is old hat to say it, but we ain't voting for a pastor, but a president, and I hope one with some common sense to to along with brains Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]://shipslog-jack.blogspot.com/

I love the Seventh Day people. Sure, they have some things off just like other churches do. Ben Carson simply gave a theory concerning the pyramids. It's not his doctrine. Can you imagine if you knew other candidates' personal theories? Here's the deal....they are looking for anything and everything to discredit him and I mentioned this a long time ago. The Seventh Day thing was going to bite him.

Pretty goofy, but if we're honest, pretty much everyone has an irrational, hare-brained theory about

I too have never heard anything about them that would make me think they were a cult (unless the Jesus is Michael the Archangel thing is true, which I doubt). I've known some very, very good Adventists who I believe are true Christians. But yes, Eddie, some will use that against him like they did Romney, and like many do with Catholics or even main-line protestant denoms.

According to an Adventist website, here is what they believe about Jesus and Michael: http://spectrummagazine.org/article/ross-winkle/2012/08/20/jesus-and-archangelSeventh-day Adventists furthermore teach—unlike most Christians—that the biblical references to the celestial Michael are references to Jesus himself in his pre-incarnate state. This teaching was advocated by William Miller and other Millerites in the 19th century.[5] While this is not a fundamental belief of Seventh-day Adventism,[6] it is a belief that Seventh-day Adventists have promoted.[7] And according to Seventh-day Adventist teaching, the text that most closely associates the archangel Michael with Jesus is 1 Thess 4:16. When Jack J. Blanco’s The Clear Word Bible: A Paraphrase to Nurture Faith and Growth was published in 1994, for example, his version of this verse reflected Seventh-day Adventist teaching and stated: “When Christ descends from heaven, He,
