To me the most useless war was with Vietnam. We gained nothing. Neither did the South Vietnamese. We lost over 58,000 men during the war.

I feel WW2 was only necessary because we created a monster we had to kill. But isn't that typical of government? The destroy things so they can get credit for fixing them.We could have avoided Pearl Harbor, but we let it happen. We could have negotiated with the Japs to stay out of the South Pacific. It was not our problem they were in Manchuria, which was not part of China to begin with.All we did in China was let Mao take over. Japan would have been a better task master for the Chinese in the long run than Mao. Europe was not our problem. Poland was stupid to listen to France and Britain. They should have helped Hitler destroy the Soviets. Hitler wanted them as an ally. Poland was a quasi-fascist State. Had Hitler not invaded the USSR, Stalin was planning on invading Europe anyway. The Baltic States, BellaRussia and the Ukraine looked at the Nazis as saviors and liberators. Literally hundreds of thousands of them, along with hundreds of thousands of Russians put on German uniforms and fought for Hitler against Stalin.
