I completely agree with you about the arrogance. I was born into the COG and many of my family are in the COG. I have had kin folks in the ministry as long as I can remember. Several good pastors two advanced to Overseers and two (that pastored large churches) who failed thru adultery. One of those left the COG and formed a successful independent work, he was very arrogant. The other was also arrogant but did go thru the church discipline procedure, but stated I will get a church, But I will not take just anything. One statement I heard so often, David committed adultery, even murder and was a man after God's own heart.My thoughts to that were 'Did you ever save a nation and slay a Giant? or if it was the adultery that made him a man after God's own heart, maybe we all should try it.'YES, to the comments of the number of victims, it is terrible. It takes a toll on the parents, church, family and as Eddie commented, especially the ones who were won to the Lord.But come to think of it, the act of adultery by a minister is ARROGANT in itself.
