Dake is interesting. Though I don't agree with all he says, he certainly has some things that are worth considering. I would never consider Dake's as a sole source of doctrine though.

I have a Dakes bible & I enjoy reading some of the historical notes as well as some of his insights. I also have a Swaggart bible & I read some of his notes as well.Similar to what QW says, I don't agree with everything he makes comments about, but honestly I don't know the background story on Dakes & why some people never read his material.I wonder sometimes if one of the disciples had assembled all of the great writings & assembled them in a book to be used as a bible in place of the KJV, some guys would have a problem with that as well. The Spirit can speak to us through His word regardless of who the publisher is & I enjoy the understanding of the phrase I just chew up the meat & spit out the bones. Empty nest syndrome is for the birds!Email me at: [email protected] planters are focused on just one thing ...introducing people to Jesus!

I have had a Dakes Bible for many years. Before I got a PC Bible program I used it on a regular basis. I have only picked it up a few times over the last 15 or so years. However if I had no PC Bible program and could own only one book it would be Dakes Bible Recorded Sermons @ www.pastorwiley.com

I wonder if Dake would do acts-celerate if he had been born a few decades later. He really makes his case. Like most posters here, what he says is worth considering even if you come to a different conclusion.Similar to Larry, I seldom go to my Dake Bible when studying. I am probably going to end up at the same conclusion, and if I go to it first, then I won't have done the actual working through it myself.Yes, there are some things I differ with Dake on. But then, there are more things I differ with the Minutes on, yet I remain a faithful member.
