Overall, Dr. Youssef gives a kind, loving, heartfelt, intelligent, concise expose' of the heretical, blasphemous book, The Shack by William P. Young: m.youtube.com/watch?v=PSO65uhoXtUThe Way of the Master has put together the high points of Youssef's expose' of The Shack here:m.youtube.com/watch?v=Uek4l5VzcNc

QW, I cannot believe I watched the whole thing. I even heard 95% if what he said. The only problem I had was I have never heard of the book. BUT my wife was watching and said our son has made positive statements about it. So I was very interested. THANKSNow as to my hearing and that of many other people. I cannot mention it enough. Many ministers do not know that many (I mean many) in their congregations do not understand half of their sermons because they will not take the time to 'enunciate' at a speed of the average person's hearing. I am an extreme case, but I ask my wife or someone else, what did he say? they will say, I haven't a clue!DA Sheik mentioned a public speaking class would be good for many public speakers, I agree. The sermon I just watched and listened to was one of Two in the last couple months that I have understood enough to remember parts. The other was the Congressional Chaplain's sermon after the inauguration.I did learn. I appreciated the explanations and the re-enforcement of my beliefs of the Trinity.AGain Thanks my friend, that was a blessing and great to hear(and understand) about an entire sermon. YOU done good! Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/

I never read it, and I'm actually surprised to see it being made into a movie at this point. Is it really evil or is this another case of the Christian world overreacting to something [Jesus] will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. - Nicene Creed

It IS a mystical take on God and how He MIGHT appear should He converse with us.There is a group of internet folks who LIVE to claim that someone is a heretic, evil, backslidden, etc. If you write a book that focuses on one particular attribute of God, they LIVE to claim that you did not mention this or that about God.I read the book. It didn't make me think about God any differently. It was well within the parameters, I think, of what God might do if He was trying to reach someone who desperately needed reaching.

Aaron Scott is a heretic, evil, and backslidden.I live to tell you these things. However, it has nothing to do with liking this book. It's his Seminole love that informs me. As Buzz says: He is a sad, strange little man, and he has my pity!

H. Richard Niebuhr's off-cited depiction of liberal theology applies pretty well to The Shack and those who love it:

From my perspective, I don't watch movies to inform my theology. I like to be entertained and escape (unless it's a documentary or bio). If The Shack is being promoted as a theological treatise then that's something else entirely. Almost every movie in recent memory that has tried to make biblical references has gotten it wrong. Mostly due to omissions, embellishments, or outright lies. For that reason, I typically avoid any movie or television show that attempts to tell a biblical story. Except for The Ten Commandments because I am certain Moses looked just like Charlton Heston.
