I had the opportunity to speak to a top Australian government official, a Christian, who works with nuclear proliferation treaties. I asked him what he thought about the Iran deal.He thought it was good thing. Before the deal, Iran was about 6 months away from nuclear weapons. The deal made that impossible, he thought, for a couple of years. If they keep their agreements, they wouldn't have weapons for another 10 or 15 years. Of course, any country could decide not to follow it's agreements with other countries. He seemed to think all indications were that North Korea was testing actual nuclear weapons rather than simulating it. He was also not a harsh critic of the Bush administration for invading Iraq. Hussein apparently deceived even officials in his own government, making them think he had WMDs, though they may have had them several months down the line
