I know the quick answer is ....because the bible says so so I would prefer to avoid that if possible.It seems clear that murder, lying, etc...are and easy to understand such.But why homosexuality. The bible is clear, or at least to me, that it is a sin. Some have gotten to be friends with gay couples and changed their theology on such matters.I have heard others say that it is a matter of anal sex, since that is a sin, then they are living in sin. Poor or bad argument here.Yet, the only answer that would seem close is that marriage between a man and woman is a type of our relationship with Jesus and ourselves. It's a personal affront to God to embrace such relationships.Saying that it's a sin because the bible says so is really a poor answer without explaining the why or understanding the heart of God.

Here is the most theologically sound answer I have - because God didn't make Adam and Steve.Perhaps there are other correct answers as well

(If you happen to be squeamish, I wouldn't recommend reading the rest of this post).Okay, one problem with saying the Bible is a poor argument is one may then just as well say that having sex with animals is okay too, as long as no harm is done. That said, Paul's argument in Romans 1appeals to nature, not Scripture per se, and so I believe we would do well to follow the inspired apostle's lead in this regard and argue that homosexuality, like bestiality, is against nature, against our very evident design.

I appreciate wanting to understand the 'why'. It is commendable. It is clear what the thoughts of the creator are on topic so to understand the why is to become more capable of thinking (<bad choice of words) the way He thinks. Feeling the way He feels. Seeing through His eyes. Being aware of the intent that He built into His design. Where in all of nature is the demonstration of intelligent design, purpose and function more abundant than in the pro-creative process? ANYTHING that mutates that or rejects it is 180 degrees the wrong direction. To reject it is to hate life itself. To reject it is to reject the creator Himself.That is why Paul said in Roman's 1 that this sin is the fruit of a bigger sin:
