I was once told, by a former Ministries Director, from a neighboring state, If we take an out of state pastor, we have to send one of 'our' pastors back, as a replacement. Example:Tennessee Pastor in interested in a church in South Carolina. Great. He/She gets appointed. But the deal is.....once that happens, South Carolina has to then send a pastor back to Tennessee. Tennessee gave pastor, Tennessee gets a pastor.I've heard this is the way it works for years. The guy I was talking to implied it was pretty much the rule. However, I've seen lots of guys come to our state, without anyone from here leaving. And I've seen our guys leave.....without anyone from other states coming. Now, please understand, that's fine with me. I don't like the idea and am not advocating it. I just want some clarity on the subject. We have, or at least had, an unwritten policy that is sometimes enforced. Is it a thing, or not |

Aren't you from North Georgia? Didn't 2 pastors from your state go to Alabama and 2 from Alabama come to North Georgia a couple of years ago? You also had a guy from a larger church go to Florida and another one come from Michigan. I always had the perspective that North Georgia was a lot less territorial about that stuff than places like Alabama and South Carolina. I am from North Georgia. My point is, I've heard pastors are subject to the give and take rule. But I haven't really seen it in NGA. I'm reasonably confident that the situations you listed were not give and take |

Can an overseer offer a future draft pick instead, if there's a five-star exhorter recruit that the other state might be interested in? Yes, but keep in mind Alabama may not ever send one back - as they grey shirt a lot of their recruits |
