The last time we had the GA in San Antonio my youngest son (Matt) was with us & was competing as a musician for Teen Talent. He was basically stuck with his folks & a some of our adult leadership for the whole week which meant he had to eat his meals with us unless he wanted to go it alone. One night after the main service we went towards the hotel looking for a place to eat but everything was packed with long lines out the door.We crossed the street & went towards the mall where we could see a Hooters & from our view of the door there was nobody crowding the door.Matt says, Hey Pop, let's grab a table at Hooters, I'm starvingTo which I replied in my best Christian/Pastor/Dad voice, Son we can't go in there wearing these credentials on our neck, it wouldn't look right as delegates to the GA & besides the perception alone is enough to make people talk.Matt didn't miss a beat, Well then I guess all those delegates in there right now are gonna leave folks with a lot to talk about.I looked in the window & almost every table was full of GA delegates. My wife looked at me & said, I'll leave this one to you to explain to your 17 year old son. Empty nest syndrome is for the birds!Email me at: [email protected] planters are focused on just one thing ...introducing people to Jesus!
