I have a little problem with the whole thing. If Jimmy was connected with the murder of a prostitute there are so many folk (like the Observer and Jim Bakker) who wanted to sink Swaggart and his school and TV show with evidence like this it seems it could have been done.Was Gorman dumb enough to wait 3 months for an apology?I don’t get it. ________________Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/

Gorman spoke with Jimmy several times for the first two months and he continued to promise to clear Gorman’s name. But then Jimmy stopped returning his calls. That’s when Gorman surmised that Jimmy was changing his mind, fuiguring that he’s win out if it was his word against a prostitute’s . Had he known Gorman had photos, he would have not become so cocky. As for the missing prostitute, the author of the video surmises that the imposter hooker threw the press off________________
You are right. I didn’t watch the video as it is 42 minutes long. I don’t care for watching anything that long. Had it been a few minutes that would be ok but NEVER 42 minutes. If there had been a cover up, I am SURE it would have been found out by now. There was so much in the news during the initial time. We had not got over Jim Bakker and PTL (who was done dirty by Charlotte Observor and the media). Sure, he did wrong but if they had left him alone, he would have completed the buildings but that is another story and God had a reason and purpose. He, too, sought God for forgiveness. Money, Power and Fame have destroyed many preachers BUT God is still faithful to forgive. He amazes me and I have been a Christian 55 years.
I wasted 15 minutes listening.How can I know who this guy is and how can I know he is truthful? IMO, Swaggart did worse than whatever he did with a prostitute when he tried to destroy the ministry of Marvin Gorman and Jim Bakker.Bakker was a bigger name than Swaggart and Gorman was gaining ground.What a shame to the Body of Christ. Three men with enormous potential of winning millions to Christ are now just reminders.Now when I hear Swaggart it all about the Cross. About his revelation of the Cross. And how the rest of the ministers are so wrong, even the AG which he was a big part of for decades. Any thinking person knew there was more to the problem than was shown or came out. It is true that with Millions Swag could have changed the course of events. Money talks.But I am with Larry, the big story is three men who were, and could have been more went down in disgrace and harmed the body of Christ.I fear for a minister when millions of $ start passing thru their hands, they need the dedication to overcome temptation that is tough for humans to handle, power and money.I cried for good honest Christians who were hurt when the enemy found a way to destroy once Godly men.God’s grace is wonderful, he does forgive. Amen on the preaching of the Cross. I don’t think he thinks anyone is right but himself and his ministry. That is what got him in trouble the first time. He tried to bring down Bakker and Gorman. I remember him saying that we need to get rid of the cancer out of the body of Christ, referring to Jim Bakker. That bothered me and really hurt me. Sure Bakker did wrong, but he paid dearly for it. He lost everything – even his wife. He almost lost his mind. Not saying it boastfully, but our church at that time prayed many of a prayer for him. It seemed as if no one was there for him and he had helped thousands launch their ministries whether it was singing or preaching. I don’t agree with everything now but I believe he is sincere and tring to do his best. I listen to Jimmy S but usually only the singing.
I must admit a weakness for mystery and intrigue. This video would make a good episode of In Search Of or Unsolved Mysteries. The mystery of the missing prostitute ranks up there with the Lindbergh baby. Plus, having been living in BR and working for JSM when it all went down, I have become sort of a Swaggart Historian. Without going into detail, I know of a few others who literally were threatened concerning Swaggart. So when this video caught my eye, it really made me start to wonder. However, I will have to wait awhile before giving this much thought________________
Interestingly enough, a certain Dr. Lewis, who was one of the first pastors (if not the first) of Family Worship Center, actually referred to Jimmy as Dr. Swaggart on A Study in the Word. Dr. Lewis had a real doctorate. Perhaps Jimmy had some sort of honorary. I was never able to find out any details________________
The first thing you need to ask yourself is who is floating the theory and why.(Maybe that’s the second question. Maybe the first question should be, Do I want this to be true?)
And then maybe you should ask yourself, do I want it to be true that RS wants it to be true________________
But in all seriousness, I cannot endorse this man’s theory based on mere speculation. But what is not speculation is that the story did change without explanation, and that two women vanished. That does not mean they were murdered. But they certainly could have felt threatened and left the limelight. Something is very odd about that just as it is odd that the photos of Swaggart and Murphy do not appear to be at the Travel Inn________________
