Ask God why he chose to make a Bible ooze oil when there are seemingly a lot more important things – life changing things – that he could have done.Hopefully, He will show me why.Or I can add it to the rest of the mysteries I have regarding Him and would add nothing to my understanding of Him________________
If that had been said on some Religious TV program my first impression would be ‘scam’, from hearing of past promises and strange things like filling teeth with gold or gold dust in the air.I am a logical man. Most miracles performed by God or the Trinity and been ‘useful’ miracles. Blind men see, dead mean rise, oil and flour that replenished to keep a widow, son and prophet alive. There may be some for show, just right now I cannot think of one. (Not saying it is not there!) If God is working through this oil to bring miracles, BRING IT ON! ________________Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/
How about my question? If it happened to you, what would you do? I would video the oil dripping, I would call my pastor and request he call the Overseer. I would pray and ask for guidance, but I would document the ‘oozing’. What amount are your talking? smears or gallons?My friend I have witnessed a lot of ‘magic tricks’ in my time. Even performed many ‘magic tricks’ that folks would swear were impossible. I have made money appear and disappear into thin air. As a magician I am leery of the ‘impossible’ unless I feel the ‘Spirit’.Your question brings up more questions. Is my Bible in a public place? Again from my past experience of of ‘tricks’, I would check it out as I prayed. If I felt it was real I would ask for guidance, before I went thru the procedures I mentioned above. but for sure I would check it out.In the incident in SC, and the testimony of folks here who know the lead pastor and vouch for his integrity, my head is spinning to come up with a reason for the oil.________________Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/

I would use it to anoint people (and probably things as well) and pray over them. That would be my first impulse since the scripture that comes most readily to mind about oil is anointing the sick and praying for them.(I might put a little on the storm door that is squeaking if the oil was a clear oil.)Then I would probably pray for guidance.
I find it interesting that God entertained some questions. When Ezekiel asked if he could use a dung other than human, God allowed him that concession. When Gideon put out a fleece, God allowed him that concession. When Ananias was told to go pray for Paul, he told the Lord he had heard a lot of bad things about Paul. God responded to Ananias’ implied question here as well. Maybe God would show NBF what He was up to. (Of course our scenario is hypothetical. Maybe if actually happened, the first thing NBF would do is slap some of that oil on his computer screen and pray for all his cohorts on Acts!)
Another thing that came to mind is Moses and the burning bush. There was a supernatural occurrence that caught Moses’ attention.It was when he turned aside to observe and see why it was happening that God spoke to him.Exodus 33 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.
Perhaps.Perhaps NBF was sincere and not sarcastic.Perhaps.Perhaps you should also take a look at how Jesus handled questions from the hyper-critical. Also note how many of the questions Jesus was asked were answered________________I’m not saved because I’m good. Isn’t it sad that we have seen/heard of so many Christian tricks and false miracles, that we can hardly bring ourselves to believe such things?Isn’t it sad that we have become so, well, jaded that we struggle to fully accept such things?I am in the same boat. I seemed to sense utter sincerity in these folks, yet, frankly (Lord, help Thou mine unbelief!), I think of pretty much like I think of gold dust, filled teeth, etc.
I am not sure anyone knows exactly what they would do until it happens to them. One can speculate, as I have done, but in reality it is so foreign to my thinking I guess I really don’t know. I am not sure anyone knows exactly what they would do until it happens to them. One can speculate, as I have done, but in reality it is so foreign to my thinking I guess I really don’t know.
