When Saturday rolls around I like to ask; will there be first time visitors this Sunday? How many have we reached since last Sunday and in what way have they been connected with? Has there been a good connection made through the women’s group? The men’s or youth group? Is the service planned in such a way as to nurture that new relationship? Too often the answer is disappointing.
This is unequivocally the questions we all need to ask ourselves ! Especially lay persons! The pastor can’t do all to save all! A pastor is to be over his sheep but who is going turn out the lamb?
Rule of thumb. There are 5 people in attendance for every 1 person serving. Also, a focused on children being family and friends, many of which need the Lord.
