Several years ago I asked Robert Fisher to send me to a particular church. He did not want to because he heard some negative things about the church, which btw was not true. I continued asking until he sent me.Several months later he phoned me to ask how it was going. I stayed at that church longer than any other. Great people. I still keep in contact with several of them.Dr. Fisher also visited every pastor in N. Ga. not long after he became the AB.I received a phone call from the AB from S. Ga. about 12 years ago. My brother died and he thought I was the one who died.I phoned FL Braddock on day and when he got to the phone he said; boy where have you been I have been trying to get in touch with you. I asked what he wanted. He said I have a church I want you to check out. I said that is what I am calling you for. How would I know that he knew? Robert tilton Knows , he said so on his broadcast. LOL The Shadow knows…..Seriously, I think it is the same with the Overseers as the local pastor. I know pastors who never call or visit, even if they are asked.isn’t the sign of the times, The pastor is too busy to check on the flock and the overseer is too busy to check on those in his care? WE are all too ‘xtxrv’ busy to take time to care.That is not the case all the time obviously because many on this forum knows the sheep who are hurting and need a word from the MAN! Our preacher calls everyone on Sat. morning, every sat morning. He has one of those new fangled thangs where he can call everyone at once. Believe it or not, I like that one call gets all, just today the wife answered saying to me, ‘it’s the pastor’, he was telling everyone that one of our oldest member’s son had passed. He can get the word out without a telephone chain. BUT it doesn’t take the place of the call that says, If this isn’t a bad time I just wanted to talk to you a minute! Most members would think they had won the lottery! It is the same with Bro. JJ whoset, pastoring 23 people. F L Braddock – that’s a name I haven’t heard in a while.He is gone but not forgotten.We didn’t really know each other – but if the guy ever saw me – he called out my name to come talk to me – and when he talked to me and another person’s name come up – he was always busy saying everything good he knew about a person.He was a real gem________________
Ha Bro. BoyHe always called me Brother (last name)…even when I was a teenager.And always said so good to see you.He was indeed Mr. Positive.I loved that guy. Thank you for mentioning his name so I could remember him________________
I have to say, I have had some really good AB’s in KY. They have all called to check on me/my family at some point. As a DO in KY, I do my best to make sure that our AB Bruce Rabon knows about the sicknesses/deaths/issues of the ministers in NKY. As a DO and Pastor, I have to say that I don’t know what’s going on with my members unless they or someone else tells me what’s going on. Funny thing: I did have one member get mad and leave our church because she asked if I knew what she was going through and I said no. I asked if she wanted to tell me, she said no we will wait for God to tell you. Well, God never told me and she didn’t stay. Her leaving was all my fault because I forgot to charge my super power of mind reading that day.
Pastors and members have an opinion on the phone contacts, but all in all a friendly unsolicited phone call, or a member’s name called from the pulpit at times is an unbelievable ‘shot in the arm’ of most of us.It was no problem in the small churches I pastored. Just a list with a check mark by the name if I had mentioned them in church or called them.Man now with the internet all that would be a breeze now, the list making I mean. Immediate printing… LOLBrother Powers, former pastor at Inverness was one of the best at mentioning in pride, a member from the pulpit. In his prelims or sermon he would include one or two members.Psychology or wisdom? Either way it boosts one’s self worth, whether the call is from a pastor or Overseer________________Some facts but mostly just my [email protected]/
I have, several times. To honest with you, I don’t doubt that. I have been a Pastor of a smaller Church for a long time ( Although we have grown significantly recently). And I have noticed the difference in the way this AB interacts with different Pastors. And it’s always the Pastors of the larger Churches, Pastors that have a more prominent status in the State, the AB is drawn to. I see it, I hear it, and it isn’t sour grapes. And it isn’t a conspiracy theory on my part. I do my job, I support the state, and I am not a whiner ( Until now), I keep my mouth shut and do the best I can.It’s just that pastors as myself would like a little attention from someone who is suppose to care. Especially when the AB is aware of things.I know he can’t read my mind, but when he knows there is a need, I find it shameful on his behalf to not make a contact with me.
But what does it say about an AB, when you call them concerning a situation, or a health scare, etc, and they never call back as a followup? To clarify – they did always call back if I left a message.But I never had one call me on his own accord________________

I have pastor in the CoG for 12 years
and have never had an AB call me. I just get calls from the state treasurer asking why we haven’t sent in the ToT.
Back on point.I never got a call.I always called them________________
KY AB’s
