It’s not really a problem because reality denial has become a practice for them.They guard against basing their beliefs on circumstances, even criticizing people who point to real-life examples of saints who have gotten sick and died. (God is true, and every man is a liar.)

To be honest if someone actually believes that it is a ‘sin’ to be sick, or just ‘do not claim’ the sickness they are sick in my opinion. And that teaching or believe does ‘hint’ or point to a ‘logical conclusion’ one would never die.I have never listened to anyone who taught that it was a sin to be sick, so I must take it from someone else I trust.I remember a preacher with that ‘sort’ of belief in the late 1940’s who had to close a revival at the Shelby, NC COG because he got the measles and had to absent himself ‘for personal reasons’. The janitor (kin of mine) talked to him, because he was living in the basement of the church during the revival and he was covered with the measles but didn’t want anyone to know it. What I’ve heard them teach is that you are to rebuke sickness because it doesn’t have a right in your body. That the Word says you’re healed by the power of the blood of Jesus (which it does.) But if you don’t confess sickness, I’m not sure how you are supposed to be healed. Why would you need healing if you’re not sick?I don’t agree with all they teach, but I sure would rather hear someone go off the deep end about being positive and having faith in God than be around people who are constantly complaining about sickness and every other negative thing in the world. And church people and some preachers are some of the most negative people in the world.I haven’t listened to their ministry in years, and yes, they do go off the deep end at times. Not according to them unless you have been around them every day for a couple of years you really don’t know the extent of the craziness. There was no sick, the devil just gave you some symptoms and you chose to receive it. If you said I have a cold, that’s confessing.
After all of the error, the public disgrace/shame woffie theology has caused, the lives that have been destroyed, the faith of so many that came to shipwreck, after all the solid/substantive exegesis from both within/without the WOF camp proving it to contain cultic/extrabiblical tenets, etc…………………………..I am absolutely amazed that some COG folk continue to defend/espouse/support/embrace/believe woffie error.
I had a Copelandite in my church once who got very upset with me and rebuked me when I said, Oh my head is killing me! I used to get terrible migraines. She was just sure I was cursing myself by using such figures of speech.
