John Piper is Calvinist; believes in predestination; doesn’t think women should preach; thinks women should put up with verbal abuse for a season if necessary; thinks women shouldn’t have jobs that require giving directives to men; seems to have a phobia of women pressing their authority into a man, and on and on–

No, I don’t discount everything he says because he is a Calvinist. I have a good Calvinist friend whose company I enjoy very much; it’s just that over time I’ve listened to so many whacked-out things that Piper has said, that I can’t bring myself to hear him out. I started listening to the above audio, got to about two and half minutes and decided I had better things to spend my time on.(I think Piper was parsing whether saying God didn’t want heaven without us was accurate. I was just thinking about John 3:16and thinking I could probably deal with singing God didn’t want heaven without us.)However, I did bring up the thing about Calvinism just so that if ministers who are reading Acts-celerate (the vast majority of whom are Pentecostal as far as I know) would know what kind of resource this is. Of course, as much as Piper is quoted, it’s possible folks here already know who he is. I do know there is one minister who posts here who thinks highly of Piper, and I think highly of the poster, so each to his own I guess.
