This is really eye opening, , 83 years involved with the COG and at one time I would recognize 3/4 of the names there. Now I recognize one and he is from Ireland. I only know him from on-line although I do still hope to travel to Ireland and try to visit. I certainly respect Nick’s opinions and insights I have read.I have always appreciated the COG, but in the past 20 or so years feel we should revert more to a congregational church. I have seen what ‘appears’ to be high handed things like selling a church with high value property, still able to pay it’s expenses but slowly folding, sold from under the ‘old folk’ who paid for it. If a church is a ‘burden’ to the state I guess i can see it, but just to get the property value, it is tough to swallow.I do have to admit I only know of a couple of instances, but have heard of more.
