I’m in the PhD lab, so I’m eating some Progresso soup out of a can. My question is, where is the sodium. This stuff needs some salt, and I don’t have any. It’s got 660 something or other–grams I’m assuming, though I can’t read the fine print–of sodium. I don’t know what 660 grams of salt means practically, and I’m not worried about it.As far as I know, I don’t have a heart problem. I’m skeptical of the idea that salt has that much impact on heart problems anyway. I hear the relationship is very minute. I should be able to eat as much salt as I want within reason. What’s the deal with all the educed sodium in these products. The can advertizes low fat and that’s fine. But they should put a big warning label on it if it’s low sodium and you have to add your own salt so you’ll be prepared________________
Bless you for helping Mike. I used to chauffeur him around a lot in 1975-1976 and often went to a church with him that was associated with H. Richard Hall as he had a crush on a young lady preacher there. I loved to watch Mike run the aisles in church and was amazed at his roller skating prowess in spite of his weight. My experience at Lee was heightened by friendship with Mike.
Mike started at Lee the same time I did, 1969. We were both from Ohio. He left Lee somewhere around 1982-83.
Yes, you are correct. He worked with H. Richard Hall who wanted to set Mike up with his own tent, etc. And he did fall in love with a young lady at Hall’s church. But the young girl had no romantic interest in Mike.
He was a Lee fixture!!

By chance I listened to D.R.Shortridge just last week.Here are some of my notes, as he was preaching. Very much a 1950’s style CoG preacher.” God wants you to be emotional.” Yet he never said that God wants you to be sensible, reasonable or rational. ” You have to let God control you.” Yet never told the people be responsible and/or take control of their own life under the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. Over several sermons I have never heard him refer to a book or even an article that he has read. He seems to have a very shallow world view. I heard no new words or fresh approaches to old ideas.
They were such good people. I’m old enough to remember them too.
I would highly recommend speaking with Nigel Mumford whose ministry “By His Wounds” is geared to healing of military veterans. He is former Royal Marine from Great Britain who now lives in the U.S. You will love his heart and ministry. I refer many veterans to him.
